Gala to feature philanthropy expert

The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a black-tie-optional gala dinner June 14 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St.

The event opens with a social hour and jazz music at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and a formal program will be 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets to the nonfundraising event are $100 per guest and can be purchased at http://www.cfsww.org or 360-694-2550.

The guest speaker will be Claire Gaudiani, an expert on the history and economics of American philanthropy. Gaudiani has published four books and dozens of articles on the topic, serves on several philanthropic boards, and is an adjunct professor at the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University. She is the former president of Connecticut College.

The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington manages more than 290 separate funds for the betterment of the community. It makes millions of dollars in grant awards every year. Visit http://www.cfsww.org to learn more.
